UB-Alert 1620AM Announcement Request

About

The University at Buffalo has received FCC licensing to operate UB-Alert 1620AM, its own campus advisory and parking radio station. We are now taking submissions for announcements on our radio system. WQCT 657, 1620-AM provides on-campus travelers advice designed to improve the flow of day-to-day and event-driven traffic. Messages will include general parking and transportation tips, special events which impact traveling or parking on campus*, road repairs/lot repairs, campus closures or early dismissals, and emergency notifications.

Below is an online submission form, which would need to be completed 3 weeks in advance of the event date. The Department Head/Designee and relevant contact information must be included on each request. A Campus Advisory and Parking Team has been formed to review guidelines and procedures. When necessary, the team will review requests for broadcasts.

For those of you unfamiliar with our system, tune into UB-Alert, 1620 AM.

*Only events that alter parking or transportation on campus or create a significant increase in vehicular traffic on campus would be applicable.
